Gluck by Julien Tiersot

Felix Alcan, Paris, 1910. This is a first edition copy of Les Maitres de la Musique: Gluck, by Julien Tiersot. The book is signed by Tiersot with his inscription gifting it to famed French composer Gabriel Fauré. The 1910 book is in near fine condition and is rebound in a leather spine with marble boards and end papers. A majority of the pages are also still uncut, and has what appears to be the original paperback cover tipped into the book as well. Julien Tiersot was a French primary musicologist, as well as composer and author, who studied organ Franc and composition with Massenet, who was librarian at the Paris Conservatory.
