114 Songs by Charles Ives

Charles Ives, Redding, 1922. This is a first edition, second impression, of 114 Songs, a book of sheet music, by Charles Ives in its original blue cloth cover lettered in gilt. It has pp37-39 printed. Affixed to inside of the front cover is a 7x11 cm piece of paper with Ive's ink inscription, clipped from an unrelated item: "C. E. I. Christmas. 1929 164 East 74th St. NY." The first impression was only 500 copies, which Ives distributed privately. This second impression was consisted of a reported 1000 copies intended, again, for private distribution, and included additional music not included in the first impression. The book is in near fine condition with very minimal wear.
